This roundup covers Avid updates released after version 4.1.15, through version 4.2.12. It includes late-August changes that were not in the August roundup. Review new capabilities and meaningful fixes across Pathways, audiences, Insights, Playbooks, integrations, and account access.
Pathways, audiences, and integrations
New capabilities
- See Wiland audiences in Pathways. When your organization has a Wiland connection, Pathways shows a Wiland tab. Open Wiland Audiences to review delivered audiences, including the Usage column. From that page you can select Request New Audience, Request Additional Records, or Purchase for Download when those actions are available for the audience.
- Compare two or three audiences. On Manage Audiences, select two or three audiences, then select Compare audiences. Avid opens Audience Comparison, with overlap, a profile comparison, and giving charts. Select Combine Lists, then Download unique list, to download a split-test file that assigns each overlapping person to one list. Compare audiences stays unavailable until exactly two or three audiences are selected, and Avid shows Select 2 or 3 audiences to compare.
- Review a propensity model's quality. On an audience row, select View Model Details. A completed model shows Strong or Needs caution. This action is available on Intelligence and OS.
- Pin one audience to your dashboard. On Manage Audiences, open the row menu and select Pin to the dashboard. The card shows Contacts, Usage, Type, and Created By. Select Unpin from the dashboard to remove it. You pick the audience from Manage Audiences. It is not a tile in the widget catalog.
-
See whether a pathway is delivering records. On Manage Pathways, each audience shows a health label:
- Synced: the latest run delivered records, or there was nothing new to send.
- Syncing: a run is in progress.
- Nothing delivered: the latest run delivered no records, and that has happened fewer than three times in a row.
- Under-delivering: fewer than half of the records were delivered on three runs in a row.
- Not delivering: no records were delivered on three runs in a row, or on a pathway's first run.
- Sync failed: the latest run failed.
- Reconnect needed: the connection needs to be authorized again.
- Off: sync is turned off.
- Paused: sync is paused.
A later successful run returns the label to Synced. Until a pathway completes a sync after this update, Health shows Synced.
-
Send an audience to a list, tag, group, or ad audience you already own. While you set up a pathway, open Advanced Settings, then Information. Select the checkbox for that destination: Use an existing list, Use an existing tag, Use an existing group, or Use an existing audience. Then pick the remote item. Leave that checkbox off and Avid still creates or finds a destination named
AVID - {audience name}. - Connect TikTok Ads and Powered By Text. In Settings, select Connections, then Add system. TikTok Ads uses Authenticate. Powered By Text uses Save with your credentials. A Powered By Text pathway sends the audience to a subscriber list matched on mobile number. Avid does not send the text messages.
-
Upload larger data files. On Settings → Files, a data file can be up to 1TB. Accepted types are
.csv,.txt,.xlsx,.xls, and.zip. A file over the limit is rejected with"filename" exceeds the 1TB size limit.Playbooks uploads, brand resources, and proxy uploads stay at 100MB and show Max file size: 100MB.
A pathway that newly shows Not delivering was already sending no records. The label now reports delivery. Open the run details to see which records were rejected.
If you point a pathway at a list you already own, and that destination is HubSpot, Kit, Luminate, Marketo, or StackAdapt, people on that list who are not in the Avid audience can be removed. If the remote list, tag, group, or audience is deleted, the pathway fails. Avid does not create a replacement AVID - list in that case. Two pathways cannot use the same remote item on one destination.
Fixes and improvements
- A second Google Ads sync on the same day no longer removes the people the first sync added.
- A failed Marketo bulk upload no longer leaves the audience on Syncing. The audience moves to Sync failed and shows the error.
- A first-time StackAdapt connection can finish setup instead of staying in error with no sync.
- TikTok Ads Authenticate opens the TikTok authorization page.
- NationBuilder authorization completes after you enter the NationBuilder Slug and select Save.
- A HubSpot pathway can use an audience name that contains a slash.
- New Salesforce Marketing Cloud data-extension fields are created as a date, number, decimal, boolean, email, or text field. Fields that already exist keep their current type.
- Daily connection syncs keep their scheduled clock time.
- When a connected source finishes syncing, Avid rebuilds the blends that use that source. You do not wait for a twice-daily refresh. If a rebuild times out, Avid now restarts it, so the blend does not stay on older data.
- GoFundMe Pro checks stream access before it creates the connection. If the API user lacks access, Avid shows:
The user that created this GoFundMe Pro API application does not have the necessary permissions to make the connection. Ask an organization admin to create the API app, or grant that user access to campaigns, transactions, designations, fundraising teams, and recurring donation plans.

Insights and dashboards
New capabilities
- Export a report tab to a spreadsheet. On a report, select Export. Choose Export Current Tab to CSV, Export Current Tab to Presentation, or Export Full Report to Presentation. The CSV uses full values rather than a shortened chart label. You need Insights export permission. After the file is ready, Avid reminds you that the file may include sensitive data.
- Choose whether charts show data labels. Go to Settings → Profile → Insight Preferences. Set Chart data labels default to Use chart default, Always show labels, or Always hide labels.
- Add Large Gift Alerts to your dashboard. Add the Major Donors widget from the widget catalog. The widget, titled Large Gift Alerts, lists donors whose gifts meet the amount and time frame you set. Select Research to open Edna on that donor.
Fixes and improvements
- Email report cards that you cannot open yet show this message:
In order to view these reports, connect your email system and map the data. - A filter on a contact or activity field no longer multiplies totals such as revenue.
- A goal you set to zero stays zero. Avid does not substitute the prior year's goal.
- When Key Takeaways suggests an audience, it no longer states a donor count the chart did not provide.
- Select Reset on a report to clear numeric range filters, including filters stored in the page address.
- Edna no longer suggests a page filter value that is not in your data, so the charts do not go blank.
- Research on Large Gift Alerts now opens Edna on the donor you selected.
- Ask Edna for donors who are unengaged in email. Edna can draft that audience.
- Edna states that your organization's data stays in your Avid workspace and is not used to train public models. The link is How Avid protects your data.

Playbooks
New capabilities
- Tell Smart Play what the campaign is for before it builds. Select Build a Smart Play. Enter Campaign Description, set Level of Segmentation to None, Simple, or Advanced, and optionally use Smart Import to add a file or a link in Add Google Doc or Website URL. Select Build My Play. While Avid drafts the play, you see Drafting your play... You can leave the strategy page while the brief generates. Smart Play is available on Playbooks and OS.
- Import an existing strategy with Smart Import. On the strategy page, select Smart Import and upload a document. Avid fills the strategy questions from that file.
Fixes and improvements
- An active play whose end date has passed appears under Previous Plays. An active play with no end date, or with an end date still ahead, stays under Active Plays. A play that is not active stays under Draft Plays.
- In the Mailchimp Classic editor, a Playbook email keeps its body. It no longer reverts to
{HTML}. - A Meta launch sends every image you provide, not only the first one.
- When Edna fills a strategy field, you can select Revert to restore the previous text.
See Deploy Playbook email touchpoints to Mailchimp with the right audience.
Account access
New capabilities
- Confirm a code before two-factor authentication turns on. Go to Settings → Profile and turn on two-factor authentication. In Enable Two-Factor Authentication, scan the QR code, enter the 6-digit code, and select Confirm and Enable. Two-factor authentication stays off until that button succeeds. On later sign-ins, enter the code and select Verify.
See Enable two-factor authentication for your Avid account.
Invoice emails go to people who have Billing access. Turning Billing access off also stops those invoice emails.
