This month brings a refreshed Insights experience with redesigned charts, interactive controls, new visualization types, and AI-powered summaries from Avid AI. You also get personal display preferences and an updated Benchmark page.
Redesigned Insights Dashboard
The Insights Dashboard has a new layout built around your most important data.
- Today's Top Five Insights highlights your key metrics in a tab-based view. Each metric displays its current value and percentage change from the comparison period, so you can quickly scan performance across up to five key indicators.
- An overview card shows your primary chart with an Avid AI summary and supporting metadata like last transaction date and current time period.
- All Available Reports organizes reports into thematic groups (such as Overall, Channels, Giving Levels, Lifecycles, and more) with search and filter controls to help you find the right report faster.
Refreshed Chart Design
Every chart type has been updated with a cleaner visual style, new icons, and improved readability. You will notice the new design on all report pages, scorecard, and benchmark views.
Chart Resize Controls
You can now resize any chart to the view that works best for you.
- Click the resize icon in the chart toolbar at the bottom of any chart.
-
Choose a size from the menu:
Size Description Small Compact view. Fits more charts on screen. Medium Default balanced view. Large Expanded chart with data labels shown automatically. Full Size Chart fills the page. Opens the Avid AI side panel with AI insights and definitions.
Your size choices are preserved when you navigate between pages within the same session.
Data Label Toggle
Control whether data values appear directly on chart bars, lines, and segments.
- Click the T (labels) button in the chart toolbar to turn data labels on or off for that chart.
- On Benchmark pages, use the page-level labels toggle to turn data labels on or off for all charts at once.
Note: Charts at Large and Full Size automatically show data labels by default. You can still toggle them off per chart.
Dive Deeper Into Any Chart
Understand exactly what a chart measures and how it is filtered.
- Click the Dive Deeper button on any chart at Small, Medium, or Large size.
- A panel opens with:
- What Question Does This Answer? — the business question the chart addresses.
- Description — how the metric is calculated.
- Dimensions — the grouping categories.
- Metrics — the values displayed.
- Filters — any filters applied to the chart data.
Tip: At Full Size, this same information appears in the Definitions tab of the side panel, so the Dive Deeper button is hidden.
Full-Size Chart View with Avid AI Overview
When you resize a chart to Full Size, a side panel appears next to the chart with two tabs:
Avid Overview tab
Avid AI, your AI analyst, generates a plain-language summary of the chart. The summary includes:
- A “What does this mean?” explanation of your data.
- Key Takeaways cards highlighting important stats like percent change, highest values, and notable trends.
- Links to related charts so you can explore connected trends.
Note: Avid AI summaries are generated on demand and may take a few seconds to appear. A loading animation displays while your data is being analyzed.
Tip: If the Avid Overview tab does not appear, check that Show AI summaries is turned on in your Insight Display Preferences.
Definitions tab
Shows the same chart definition details as the Dive Deeper button: question, description, dimensions, metrics, and filters.
New Chart Types
Three new visualization types are now available for report builders to add to Insight pages.
Multi-Metric Scorecard
Displays two or three related metrics side by side. Each metric shows:
- A color-coded icon (yellow for gifts, blue for donors, green for revenue).
- The current value.
- A variance badge showing the change from the comparison period.
Information Card
A styled card that presents summary text or key facts with an icon and themed background color. Information Cards appear on report pages to provide context, such as metric definitions or section introductions.
Multi-Dimension Table
An interactive data table with:
- A dimension selector dropdown to switch the grouping (for example, switch between viewing by channel or by appeal code).
- Sortable columns — click any column header to sort.
- Pagination controls with configurable rows per page.
- Row-level filter buttons for drill-down analysis.
Note: Multi-Dimension Table is currently in development and may not yet be available on all reports.
Insight Display Preferences
Customize how Insights appear for your account.
- Go to your Profile settings page.
- Scroll to the Insight Preferences section.
-
Set your preferences:
Setting What it does Default Show compressed numbers Abbreviates large values on charts (for example, 1.5K instead of 1,500). On Show AI summaries Displays Avid AI's-generated chart analysis on Insights pages. On - Changes save automatically and apply across all Insights pages.
Benchmarks
The Benchmark page has a new layout designed for easier navigation and comparison.
- Welcome card introduces the Benchmark feature with Avid + Wiland co-branding and a link to a methodology walkthrough video.
- Filter panel slides in from the side. Applied filters display as badges above the charts so you always know what is active.
- Section tabs let you switch between benchmark categories without scrolling.
- Page-level label toggle turns data labels on or off for all benchmark charts at once.
- Chart resize is supported within benchmark sections, matching the same Small/Medium/Large/Full Size controls available on Insight pages.
Note: The Benchmark redesign is in progress. Some features may continue to be refined before general availability.
