Use Organizational Settings to manage the organization information and research Edna uses for Playbooks content. Edna is Avid’s AI fundraising assistant.
Use this article when
- You want to update the mission, value proposition, copywriting instructions, or brand terms Edna uses.
- You want to add, review, refresh, upload, or remove research resources.

Steps

Open Organizational Settings
In the main navigation, select Edna. Then select Organizational Settings.
The page opens on Mission. You also see Resources and Image Generation.

Update your mission fields
On Mission, review these fields:
- Mission Statement: Enter a short statement of one or two sentences.
- Expanded Mission: Explain who your organization serves and what it does.
- Value Proposition: Explain why a donor would give to your organization.
- Copywriting Instructions (Optional): Add words or phrases Edna should use or avoid.
Each field allows up to 15,000 characters and shows a character counter.
Click Save beside each field you change.
You see a confirmation such as
Mission Statement saved successfully!. -
Generate or refine mission content
Select Generate beside an empty mission field to draft content.
Select Refine beside a populated field. An Edna Content Refinement chat opens.
Review the generated or refined text in the field. Select Save to keep it.
Select Revert to restore the previous text before saving.

Scan a brand guide (optional)
Select Upload Brand Guide. Enter a brand URL or choose a brand document.
Supported documents include
PDF,DOC,DOCX,TXT, andMD. The maximum file size is 100 MB.Select Scan. Processing starts.
Suggested values appear in four mission fields when processing finishes.
Review Mission Statement, Expanded Mission, Value Proposition, and Copywriting Instructions (Optional).
Suggestions are not saved automatically. Select Save for each suggestion you want to keep.
Select Revert for suggestions you want to discard.

Manage brand terms and resource URLs
Enter one key term or phrase at a time in Brand Terms (Optional).
Press Enter, type a comma, or leave the input to add the term.
Add website or social links for story collection under Resource URLs (Optional).
Select Add URL to create a blank row.
Enter the URL, then select that section’s Save.
You see the saved URL in the resource URL list.
When you remove a saved URL, the Remove URL dialog opens.
The checked option reads Also remove related resources (stories, news, etc.) pulled from this URL.
If a URL is invalid, Avid shows
Please enter valid URLs. Correct the URL and try again. -
Review your resources
Select Resources. The page shows research based on brand terms and resource URLs from Mission.
Avid updates this research each week. You can also refresh or upload resources.
Use Search by name... or filter by News and Stories.
The table shows Type, Name, Source, Created, and Actions.
Select a fetched resource name. The resource opens in the content modal.

Refresh your resources
Select Fetch to retrieve current content from news and resource URLs.
Fetch is available only with Playbooks and Avid Operating System plans.
The refresh starts immediately and may take a few minutes.
You see a notification when the refresh finishes.

Upload a resource
Select Upload, then choose News or Stories.
Enter a URL and select Add URL.
Avid starts processing the URL and adds the item shortly.
You can also choose a supported file and select Upload File.
After a file uploads, Avid confirms the file name. Files must be 100 MB or smaller.

Delete a resource
Find the resource, then use its delete action under Actions.
Avid warns:
This will delete this resource. This action cannot be undone.Confirm the deletion. You see the resource row removed.
Deleting a resource from Avid does not change the original website or document.
What you will see
Your saved mission fields and resources provide the organization context Edna uses for Playbooks content.

Deleting a resource cannot be undone in Avid. Confirm that you selected the correct resource before continuing.
- Each core mission text field allows up to 15,000 characters.
- Brand guide and resource files must be 100 MB or smaller.
- Resource refreshes may take a few minutes. Avid notifies you when they finish.
Fix common problems
- If Organizational Settings is missing, ask an Avid admin to confirm your Settings access.
- If you see
Please enter valid URLs, correct the mission resource URL and try again. - If you see
Please enter a valid URL., correct the upload URL and try again. - If you see
Invalid file type. Please select a supported file type., choose a supported document. - If a file exceeds 100 MB, choose a smaller file.
