Connect your HubSpot account to Avid so Avid can read your email engagement data and power benchmarks, pathways, and playbooks.
Use this article when
- You want to connect HubSpot to Avid for the first time.
- You need to re-authenticate an existing HubSpot connection.
- You are troubleshooting a failed HubSpot OAuth connection.
Applies to and prerequisites
| Applies to | All Avid plans that include email integrations. |
| Email platform | HubSpot (Marketing Hub or CRM with email tools) |
| Avid areas | Settings > Connections (Email Marketing) |
| Recommended roles |
|
| Estimated time | 5 minutes to authenticate; up to 24 hours for first data sync |
Steps
1. Start the connection from Avid
- Log in to Avid.
- Go to Settings in the left navigation.
- Click Connections.
- Find the HubSpot tile. You can also reach this from the Avid AI Integration Checklist by clicking Email Marketing.
- Click Connect or Authenticate.
2. Authorize Avid in HubSpot
- A HubSpot login window opens. Sign in with your HubSpot credentials.
- If you are already logged in, HubSpot asks you to choose an account. Select the account you want to connect.
- Review the permissions Avid requests for API access.
- Click Allow or Approve to authorize Avid.
HubSpot redirects you back to Avid. The HubSpot tile should now show as connected.
If you do not have permission to approve third-party app connections, HubSpot blocks the authorization. Ask your HubSpot Super Admin to complete this step, or invite them to join Avid.
What you'll see after connecting
- The HubSpot tile in Settings > Connections shows a connected status.
- Avid begins backfilling your email engagement data. Check back in about 24 hours for data in insights and pathways.
- You receive a reminder from Avid to customize any column mapping and approve default settings once the initial sync completes.
Next steps
- Review and customize column mappings and default settings when the initial sync completes.
- Use your email metrics in Pathways segments and playbooks once data has synced.
- Connect your CRM to push data through segments in the Pathways menu.
- If you also use other email tools, see the related integration articles in this section.
Troubleshooting
Authorization fails or you see a permissions error
- Confirm you are using a HubSpot account with Super Admin or sufficient Account Access permissions.
- If your organization restricts third-party app installations, ask a Super Admin to pre-approve the Avid integration in HubSpot's connected apps settings.
- Clear your browser cache or try an incognito window, then retry from Settings > Connections in Avid.
Data does not appear after 24 hours
- Return to Settings > Connections and confirm the HubSpot tile still shows as connected.
- If the connection shows an error, click Reconnect or Authenticate to re-authorize.
- Verify that your HubSpot account has email send history. Avid needs existing email data to backfill.
If the issue persists, contact support with a screenshot of your connection status.
Get help or use file uploads instead
If you are still struggling to connect HubSpot, open the Support form from the navigation and include:
- A brief description of what you tried.
- The exact error message, if any.
- A screenshot of the HubSpot authorization screen or the Avid connection status.
If you decide not to connect HubSpot directly, you can still load data into Avid with files: When should I use file uploads?
