How to Set Up Your Organization Profile in Avid
One of the first steps in setting up your Avid account is creating your Organization Profile. This ensures that Avid has the right details about your nonprofit, helping you maximize features like Avid Benchmarks and Playbooks to generate better insights and creative assets.
Step 1: Access Your Organization Profile
- Click the gear icon on the left to open Settings.
- At the top, select Profile.
Step 2: Customize Your Organization Details
In the Profile section, you can update key information, including:
- Logo & Organization Name – Ensure branding consistency.
- Vertical – Helps Avid provide relevant benchmarking insights.
- Website URL & Domain – Connects your organization’s online presence.
- Brand Colors – Ensures Avid-generated content aligns with your visual identity.
Step 3: Require third-party sign-in (optional)
Under Login Security on the same Profile page, admins can require users to sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Salesforce instead of email and password.
Before you turn this on: Confirm you can sign in to Avid with the Microsoft, Google, or Salesforce button using the same email as your Avid account. After you enable the setting, email and password sign-in is disabled for users in your organization.
- On the organization Profile tab, scroll to Login Security.
- Turn on Require third-party login (Google, Microsoft, or Salesforce).
- Save your Profile changes.
When the setting is on:
- Users in your organization must sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Salesforce.
- Email and password sign-in, forgot password, and password reset are blocked for those users.
- If someone tries email and password, Avid shows: Your organization requires you to sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Salesforce.
You can turn the toggle off later if you need to restore password sign-in. For inviting teammates after you enable this, see Adding Your Team.
Step 4: Define Your Mission & Value Proposition
Go beyond basic details and enrich your profile with:
- Mission Statement – Clearly define your nonprofit’s purpose.
- Value Proposition – Answer the critical donor question: Why should I give to you instead of another organization—or at all?
- Style Guide Notes – Include preferred language, tone, and key phrases.
Step 5: Add Donor Personas
Understanding your donors is crucial for effective fundraising. Use this section to document:
- Key Donor Personas – Profiles of typical supporters.
- Giving Motivations – Why donors choose to give, based on A/B testing, surveys, or research.
Why This Matters
Avid leverages this profile data to generate tailored content for your fundraising campaigns. When using Avid Playbooks, this information helps craft more compelling email, direct mail, and advertising materials—designed to resonate with your audience and inspire giving.
