What a touchpoint is
A touchpoint is a single campaign deliverable inside a play. Examples include:
- An email in a sequence
- A digital ad creative
- A donation page
- A direct mail piece
One play can contain many touchpoints. Together they form the full experience your donors receive.
Why touchpoints matter
Strong campaigns coordinate messages across channels and time. Touchpoints let you control each deliverable while keeping the play organized.
Each touchpoint has its own content, audience, schedule, and status. You can edit, reorder, or remove one touchpoint without breaking the rest of the play.
How touchpoints work in Playbooks
Open the Touchpoints tab
- Open Playbooks and select a play.
- Click the Touchpoints tab.
You see all deliverables for the play. The play header shows Start date and End date when they are set.
Choose a view
Use the view toggle at the top of the tab:
| View | Best for |
|---|---|
| Calendar | Seeing launch dates on a timeline and dragging touchpoints to reschedule. |
| Grid | Scanning creative content and channel types as cards. |
| List | Sorting by date, status, or audience in a table. |
Touchpoint statuses
Each touchpoint shows a status as content moves toward launch. Common statuses include:
- Ready — content is complete and waiting for your review.
- Generating — Avid AI is still creating content.
- Approved — you approved the touchpoint for launch.
- Launched — the touchpoint deployed to its destination.
Open the actions menu on a touchpoint to Edit, Approve, or Launch when your role allows it.
Touchpoints and audiences
Plays target audiences on the Audiences tab. A touchpoint can reference a specific audience segment. Review Audiences and Touchpoints together to confirm which message goes to which group.
