The Scorecard gives you a high-level view of your fundraising program's health. Use it to identify strengths, spot weaknesses, and track performance across key categories over time.
What the Scorecard is
The Scorecard is a strategic evaluation tool inside Avid. It aggregates your fundraising data into an overall health rating and individual category scores. Unlike the Insights tool, which tracks day-to-day trends, the Scorecard focuses on long-term program performance.
At the top of the Scorecard, an overall letter grade (A through F) summarizes your program's health. Each performance category also receives its own letter grade. For details on how grades are calculated, see Fundraiser's Scorecard Grading System.
Why the Scorecard matters
Many nonprofits plan around 12-month budget cycles. The Scorecard extends that view with three-year projections so you can anticipate challenges before they affect your mission. Use it to:
- Spot declining metrics early.
- Prioritize investment in underperforming areas.
- Track year-over-year progress in each category.
How the Scorecard works
The Scorecard evaluates your program across five performance categories:
- Donor Retention – Measures how many donors give again the following year.
- Acquisition – Tracks the number of new first-time donors.
- Reactivation – Identifies lapsed donors who resumed giving.
- Upgrade – Monitors donors who increased their giving level.
- Awareness – Measures audience growth (e.g., email subscribers, social followers).
For each category, the Scorecard displays:
- A letter grade for current performance.
- A comparison of this year's results to last year's.
- A three-year projection based on current trends.
