What is the Avid Scorecard?
The Avid Scorecard is one of the most powerful tools inside Avid, designed to give you an instant, high-level snapshot of your fundraising program's overall health. Unlike the Insights Tool, which focuses on day-to-day trends and changes, the Scorecard helps you understand how your program is performing over time in key strategic areas.
How It Works
At the top of the Scorecard, you'll see an overall health rating, displayed as a four-star rating system. This score aggregates data from multiple performance categories to show you where you're excelling and where you need to improve.
For example, if your program has a one-star rating, that’s a clear signal that strategic adjustments are needed to improve long-term sustainability and growth.
The Five Key Performance Categories
The Scorecard evaluates your program across five crucial categories:
- Donor Retention – Measures how many donors are giving again in the following year.
- Acquisition – Tracks the number of new donors contributing for the first time.
- Reactivation – Identifies lapsed donors who have resumed giving.
- Upgrade – Monitors how many donors have increased their giving level.

Each category has an individual score, allowing you to pinpoint specific areas of strength and weakness.
Predicting Future Performance
Beyond analyzing current performance, the Scorecard also projects long-term trends. For every key category, you can see:
- How this year’s performance compares to last year’s.
- Forecasted performance for next year and beyond if current trends continue.
- A three-year projection that helps you anticipate challenges and opportunities.
This forward-looking view is critical. While many nonprofits focus on 12-month budget cycles, the Scorecard helps ensure your long-term sustainability and impact.
How to Use the Scorecard
If your data is connected to Avid, accessing the Scorecard is simple:
- Navigate to the Scorecard from the left-hand menu.
- Review your overall rating and category breakdowns.
- Identify which areas need immediate attention.
- Use insights to develop targeted strategies for improvement.
